Today is a Full moon day. It is traditional to skip Ashtanga Yoga practice on moon days. Full moon causes a subtle change to the fluid in the body, an internal high tide, and generally involves an increase in energy. This can lead to over stimulation so intense practice is not recommended. Today at #PracticeYogaAustin 5:30 pm Ashtanga Class, we will have a modified moon day practice. It will be more gentle and restorative than usual primary sequence. 🌝Hope to see you there! (at Practice Yoga Austin)
Hi guys, I am excited to share that the Ashtanga class on Sundays at Practice will expand to 90 minutes to cover the full Primary sequence from this week. Please note the change of the class time. It starts at 5:30 pm instead of 6 pm. Every Sunday! Come join!

One of the many teachings in Ashtanga yoga is to accept where you are at. We get into a pose in just one breath, no time to do some “prep” movements. You might not be able to go as “perfect” as you think in the pose. But it teaches you to accept where you land and stay with the pose for 5 breaths. It teaches you to be ok with it and come back to the mat on the next day. It teaches you to relax as much as you can in each pose, even if the pose is very challenging and even if you dislike the pose. If you learn to accept the reality, you can fully enjoy the current moment. #accept #relax #quote #yogalove
